Seanol All-Natural Ingredients
Seanol is an all-natural antioxidant that is extracted from a rare seaweed species grown in pristine waters off the coasts of Japan, Korea and China. This remarkable hand-harvested seaweed is Ecklonia cava and its antioxidant power is up to 100 times more powerful than any other antioxidant known to man! See comparison table.
Seanol’s unique chemical structure consists of,
1. Polyphenols – the well known antioxidants in land-based foods and plants, plus 2. Phylorotanins – the “super-antioxidants” only found in certain sea-based plants
The phylorotanins (big name!) are the largest and most powerful antioxidant molecules. Because of their unique natural size and shape, they are able to scavenge harmful ions and free radicals more effectively than any other known antioxidant. For example, Seanol is 239 times more powerful than Vitamin E, another premium antioxidant!
Also Seanol’s polyphenols are different. Being marine-based they are 40% soluble in fats, whereas more common polyphenols from land-based foods and plants are only soluble in water. This enables Seanol to:
• Have an effective lifetime in your body of up to 12 hours compared to 30 minutes for land-based antioxidants. The longer the antioxidants are active in your body, the more radicals they can remove!
• Cross the blood-brain barrier with relative ease to bring more enriching nutrients to your brain quicker and with greater efficiency. This can give you more mental alertness.

What's ORAC?
The US Department of Agriculture has defined a measurement of the antioxidant value of various plant foods – Fruits, Nuts, Vegetables or Plants – as well as other antioxidant agents. This standard value is called the “Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity” (ORAC).
The ORAC is measured (rated) in units of “micromole Trolox equivalents (TE) per 100 grams of sample size.” The following chart displays ORAC ratings of various antioxidants and compares them to Vitamin E as a standard. For example Seanol is 239 times more powerful as an antioxidant than Vitamin E.
